PhD student wins best paper award at IEEE International Symposium

PhD student Pradeep Rajendran won the best paper award at the 2018 IEEE International Symposium on Safety, Security, and Rescue Robotics for his paper on robotic boats. His work was also featured by the NSF’s Science Nation program earlier this summer. Rejendran is advised by Professor S.K. Gupta, the Smith International Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, Director of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and the associate chair of the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.
