AME Dr. Bo Jin Recognized with National Honor in Material and Process Engineering.

Bo Jin, USC Viterbi School of Engineering lecturer, is the recipient of the National Young Professionals Emerging Leadership Award. The award, bestowed by the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), is given to 10 scientists under 35 for their achievements in the advanced composites field.

Jin previously received SAMPE’s Regional Leadership Award (California). The 2021 award was announced during a virtual award ceremony and will be received in person at the SAMPE technical conference in May 2022 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jin’s research interests focus on design, manufacturing and characterization of high-performance composites and structures, additive manufacture and 3D printing of such structures and materials microstructure optimization. He received his Ph.D. in aerospace and mechanical engineering from USC Viterbi in 2017 and is the faculty advisor of the Advanced Composites Design Team.
