Research by Associate Professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering Mitul Luhar was spotlighted in a PBS SoCal news video. Prof. Luhar explains, “PBS SoCal recently featured our work on understanding flood risk around the LA River as part of their programming on the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness around the LA River.” Prof. Luhar, along with Associate Professor Alexander Robinson of the USC School of Architecture, presented a 60-foot-long model of the river’s flow that demonstrated different scenarios of floods that could occur and how these floods would affect the LA environment as a whole.
