TEACHING FACULTY POSTING AME

The Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (https://ame.usc.edu) in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering (https://viterbischool.usc.edu/) invites applications for a faculty position to teach various undergraduate laboratory courses and supervise undergraduate student projects as well as to teach graduate courses. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible faculty position in the non-tenure track. We are interested in exceptional candidates at all levels. This is primarily a teaching position; all candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and preparation necessary to teach effectively at the BS and MS level in a highly-ranked Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering department. Teaching faculty spend the majority of their time on teaching and teaching-related duties, with reduced obligations for research and university service. While we are interested in candidates with backgrounds in all areas of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise and experience with electronics, data acquisition systems, laboratory instrumentation, mechatronic systems, SBCs (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.), analysis and interpretation of data, LabView and MATLAB. Exceptional candidates will also have strong written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or a related field by the beginning of the appointment. Salary and benefits are competitive. While we seek applications at the level of Lecturer, in exceptional cases applicants with longer and more accomplished teaching experience and/or other significant credentials may also be considered for a commensurate higher-ranked position (e.g., Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor of Practice, or Professor of Practice).
