Congratulations to AME’s Professor Paul Newton. USC’s chapter of
Phi Kappa Phi
has selected him to receive one of four Phi Kappa Phi Faculty Recognition Awards. Newton will receive the award at USC’s annual Academic Honors Convocation held in Town and Gown on April 17, 2017.

Newton was selected for the award based on his extensive publication history. His research interests are mathematics oriented, delving into diverse topics ranging from the motion of vortices on the surface of a sphere (e.g., oceans or atmospheres) to the probability of winning at tennis, and, lately, modeling cancer metastasis in the body.
