S.K. Gupta, Krishnanand Kaipa and Carlos Morato Win Best Paper Award at ASME Conference

The ASME Computers & Information in Engineering Conference 2017 Best Paper Award was given to Satyandra K. Gupta, Smith International Professor and director of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM), Krishnanand N. Kaipa, a former postdoctoral researcher advised by Gupta, and Carlos W. Morato, a former Ph.D. student, also advised by Gupta.

Their paper was titled: “System State Monitoring to Facilitate Safe and Efficient Human-Robot Collaboration in Hybrid Assembly Cells.” The conference was held in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6. The award was presented to the team on August 7 during an awards luncheon.
