AME students receive scholarships from ACSC

On September 22, the Aero Club of Southern California (ACSC) held their annual scholarship banquet. At the event, two Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering students were awarded scholarships from the group: Sidney Wilcox and Ara Mahseredijan.

Wilcox is a senior undergraduate student majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in astronautical engineering. She is the chief resource manager of the USC Rocket Propulsion Lab. Mahseredijan is a junior majoring in aerospace engineering with a minor in economics. He is the performance lead for the USC AeroDesign Team and was a flight deck displays intern at Boeing this past summer.

Guest speaker at the event was AME Associate Professor and Instructional Lab Director Charles Radovich, who is also the faculty advisor of the AeroDesign Team. He spoke about the changing face of the typical undergraduate engineer and his experience with wind tunnel testing, SpaceX, Virgin Orbit, commercial truck aerodynamics and advising student teams.
