Biography
Associate Professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Practice at USC with over 13 years of combined teaching and research experience. Specializes in large-scale undergraduate instruction, hands-on curriculum development, and project-based learning, mentoring 200+ students per semester across core mechanical engineering courses. He has published several papers and holds deep expertise in humanoid robotics for autism rehabilitation, smart materials (Shape Memory Alloys, Piezoelectric, Thermoelectric, Pyroelectric, and Conductive polymers), and 3D printing manufacturing with electrical conductivity using nanocarbon and thermoplastic composites (PLA, ABS). His work also spans soft robotic applications utilizing hyperelastic silicone-like musculoskeletal structures, energy harvesting from the human body, and NiTi stents. Proven track record of implementing inquiry-based pedagogies and guiding multiple student teams to top placements in the AIAA Region VI Student Conference across consecutive years. Recognized with the USC Viterbi Exemplary Service Award (2024–2025) for sustained contributions to teaching, curriculum innovation, and departmental service.Research Summary
